- *Attention!!!! Secret Tip below*
At the beginning of any new year everyone takes initiative to make positive changes in their lives. Usually, people are trying to workout and diet but it has been built on a stigma of negativity.
Start with a positive Mindset : This year I want to make the healthy stigma positive by changing the mindset from the get-go. It isn’t about dieting and joining a gym anymore because it is proven every year that we stick to our resolutions for only a few weeks because they are not built into our lives properly. The new year should be filled with positive thinking in this world full of negativity.
Identify and analyse your goals: Everyone is different and everyone gets fit differently. I urge you to do a little analysis before you dive into the media driven ideal of what fit is and how to get fit or what the new trends are. I want you to identify what fit means to you and if your idea of fit is realistic. Realistic goals and views on your own body are hard to face but it is the starting point and we all have to start somewhere.
Establish a budget: Being honest with yourself and your budget will make you more motivated in the long run with your goals. If you spend too much money on a gym membership or a juice cleanse and you stop going to the gym after three weeks you are then not making positive changes financially. Your goals should be well rounded and money is a motivator but it isn’t a long term motivator for fitness.
Research the best options for you: If you cannot afford a gym membership or the most trendy classes or passes do not fret, there are many options out there. I advise to identify what kind of exercise you enjoy and generally see positive improvements in the past. We know our own bodies for the most part and you should enjoy what you do to workout because it means that you will in turn be more willing to workout. There are slower exercises that are less stressful on the body like yoga, walking, hiking, golfing, etc. I highly advise adding these types of workouts even if they are not what you would generally do and see if you like them. If you haven’t tried it, how do you know it isn’t for you. Branch out if you don’t know what you like. Try something new.
Make a move: If you do all the planning and make goals, just start! Start making changes now because procrastinating your life is not your goal. Make a move to positive change, if you don’t move you won’t improve.

Secret Tip: The secret tip is the most important because it can make or break you. Stress is the most important factor to weight loss and everyday happiness but it really is the secret to getting fit and being happy. Stress is a major factor in losing weight because if you are too stressed and you workout and diet you will never lose the weight you want. If you are too stressed in your everyday I would focus first on fighting your stress and making goals to becoming less stressed in your every day.
