Number Sixteen Hotel London UK
Our first day visiting London England; I say our because my mom and I went on a trip to England to see the southern coast and Cornwall. We started our adventure out in London; where we planned a wonderful afternoon tea time the same day we flew in. I did some research before we started our trip and found the perfect spot, the Number Sixteen Hotel near South Kensington Station in London.
I am a sucker for some good hydrangeas and as you can tell from the pictures they had some amazingly English cottage green hydrangeas along with a beautiful koi pond.
I love all things Downton Abbey, English gardens, afternoon tea, the color cottage green, hydrangeas; you get what I am trying to say. I loved this little oasis of lush country feel in the middle of London. The Number Sixteen Hotel is the prime spot for relaxing, gossiping, and snacking over a cup of earl gray or champagne; which ever you prefer.
I went for the traditional earl grey tea because to be truthfully honest I haven’t ever had a really good cup of English earl gray and I would have to say that it was amazing! Thank you Number Sixteen Hotel for introducing me to another addiction.
Another first for me was clotted cream. I know, I know, a simple everyday thing in England that people in England probably take for granted, but clotted cream, like butter, is literally the best “butter” I have ever had! I am sure it isn’t the healthiest thing for you but it sure tastes good, which is good for your soul! The scones, of course, paired perfectly with the jams and cream. A wonderful welcome to England for sure.
Our full array of treats, as you can see below, consisted of: egg salad sandwiches, humus and pepper sandwiches, salmon bites, roast beef bites, scones, macrons, tarts, banana muffins, and brownies.
Thank you Number Sixteen Hotel for hosting us on our first day in London for an English afternoon tea. This is one of my favorite places in the world. A secret garden, nestled in the heart of downtown London, provides a perfect background to just take a moment to breath, relax and recharge from the busy city. If you live in London and haven’t been to afternoon tea at the Number Sixteen Hotel, I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for an escape.
A perfect beginning of our trip to England. Please stay tuned for more posts on my trip to England with my mom this past summer. I will also be posting a vlog video on my Youtube channel soon, so don’t forget to check it out.
